Nick Green is a lecturer at the University of Manchester, where he lectures on UK planning policy.

Originally trained as  a chartered building surveyor specialising in the restoration of historic buildings, Dr Green has an MPhil (1995) and a PhD (2001) in Town Planning, both from University College London. Dr Green is chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

From 2003 to 2019 Dr Green was a member of the TCPA Policy Council, and remains a member of the TCPA. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, an affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, and a member of the Royal Photographic Society.
